The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Aga Khan University Karachi is the regional leader in establishing high quality clinical service and academic programs. The current clinical facility consists of 60 beds including fast track separate adult and paediatric emergency units cardiac emergency a clinical decision unit resuscitation rooms isolation rooms and triage. The main Emergency Department (ED) provides care to over 75000 patients a year. Most patients require complex medical and surgical/trauma addition the department supervises a satellite free standing emergency department.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
provide comprehensive administrative operational and financial support for research activities across the full grant life cycle
manage and submit grant applications through the PURE system ensuring accuracy and timely submission
prepare grant budgets maintain grant variance reports (GVR) and ensure continuous budget monitoring in line with funding guidelines
coordinate with finance for reconciliations reporting timely payments and financial close-out of grants
maintain complete grant-related documentation and support audits reviews and management assessments
liaise with internal stakeholders including finance HR research office PSCMD IT transport food services and conference secretariat to ensure smooth project operations
support multiple research projects by providing administrative financial and resource coordination
organise and support management reviews PI meetings and coordination meetings including agenda preparation and minute-taking
track action points monitor timelines and ensure timely follow-up and closure of assigned actions
maintain records of meetings decisions and follow-up actions for reporting and compliance
manage departmental administrative activities related to research and grants
conduct fixed asset verification every six months and maintain accurate asset records
organise departmental events including meetings workshops and team-building activities.
