$20.54 - $23.24 Hourly
Open to the general public and any current Municipality of Anchorage employee.
This position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547 (Technicians) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1547 (Technicians).
DEPARTMENT: Public Transportation
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week between Monday and Sunday (Graveyard shift included)
LOCATION OF WORK: 3701 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
To be considered for employment applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship including Student Visas and Employment Visas under any circumstances.
Example of Duties
Responsible for the consistent and detailed cleaning of vehicle interiors on Public Transportation Department buses support and staff vehicles and department facilities. Assist with fueling and cleaning vehicles. Monitoring and preservation of safe work practices and conditions to include cleanliness of work areas dispensing and handling of products use and condition of equipment and tools. Drives Public Transportation staff vehicles and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma GED or equivalent and experience in the operation of small hand tools and performing unskilled heavy manual labor.
All applicants must possess and/or complete:
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal education and employment history at time of hire.
A valid State of Alaska Drivers License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
