Service Porter
Seeking a part time Service Porter to join our team!
Job Summary: Assists our service department in the smooth and safe operation of the department and provides an outstanding customer experience for our service patrons. Our porters are the face of our service operation creating seamless transitions from dropping off a vehicle to getting the customer back on the road again.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet customers to the service department. Assist customers with getting their vehicle to the right space- through the alignment check and with locating their service advisor.
- Protect the vehicle. Apply protective coverings (floor mats seat covers and steering wheel covers) to vehicle surfaces that may be contacted during service. Tag all vehicles and keys.
- Provide a ride. As assigned provide a ride to customers dropping off their vehicles to the service department to their home or place of employment within a designated area.
- Keep it clean. Maintain a safe workspace in service areas by helping keep the service lane clean (floors swept garbage taken out back of the shop swept) and organizing vehicles for easy access by the service team. Provides car wash service or vacuuming for customer cars. May provide other cleaning services in the dealership during downtime
- Open or close the service lane. Morning responsibilities include arriving 20-30 minutes prior to the opening of the service department to pull overnight vehicles out of the service lane turning on the alignment check machine and doing any necessary cleaning of the lane. Evening responsibilities include sweeping and cleaning the lane pulling in customer vehicles that will be staying at the dealership (no vehicles should be left on the lot unless they do not crank in which case the keys should be accounted for and the vehicles should be locked) powering down the alignment check machine and turning out the service lane lights and digital signage.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Porter Service Advisors or General Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Safe driving skills are a must-have; must have a current valid drivers license and be insurable to drive by our carrier.
- Attention to detail ability to notice when something is out of place and willing to take the initiative to correct it.
- Friendliness comes to work with a smile ready to engage with customers and show a genuine interest in helping them receive the most efficient best service for their vehicle.
- Communication takes direction effectively from the Porter team lead service advisors and service technicians so that the correct vehicle gets where it needs to be without delay.
