Join the laboratory of Sustainable Resources at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Research Assistant (5 months from March to July 2026) to contribute to a project focused on Metagenomic study of Microbial Communities in Wood Decay.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory safety purchase and bookkeeping
Field Survey of Wood Structure Decay
DNA Isolation and Quality Control
Metagenomic Sequencing
Bioinformatics Analysis
Cultivation and Isolation of pure strains
In Vitro Wood Decay Analysis
Microbiome Database Creation
Job Requirements:
A good bachelors degree in Biological Sciences Biotechnology or a related discipline.
Competence in general molecular biology laboratory techniques with relevant experience in fungal research and aseptic culturing.
Experience in bioinformatics particularly in genomic or metagenomic data analysis will be advantageous.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
