RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be certified at Advanced Level through the IRS Link & Learn website
- Must be available for all required training sessions
- Prepare only returns that are within their certification level(s) and within the scope of the program.
- Prepare multiple year tax returns via computer based on taxpayers documentation and only the returns for which you have received certification.
- Punctuality and overall consistency excellent attendance are a must.
- Provide high-quality Federal State and City tax assistance to all taxpayers.
- Provide high-quality tax return preparation to taxpayers who qualify for NYC Free Tax Prep assistance.
- Enter tax information into the TaxSlayer software
- Obtain signatures for E-File authorization
- Answer questions and/or use available resources to assist taxpayers
- Always adhere to Quality Site Requirements and Volunteers Standards of Conduct
- Maintain taxpayer privacy and confidentiality standards
- Maintain confidentiality of client information
- Ensure a copy of the completed return is provided to the taxpayer.
- Ensure no compensation of any kind is accepted for the services provided.
- Ensure compliance with all IRS rules and regulations
- Maintain proper care of all loaned equipment (computers (laptops) printers Mifi etc.).
- Coordinate with Assistant Site Manager and Site Manager to resolve client tax issue and report any problems that may arise

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma.
- IRS Volunteer Agreement.
- Knowledge of taxes and tax laws
- Must be comfortable working with diverse population.
- Must be flexible and able to respond to changing needs of the program.
- Friendly dependable and flexible.
- Ability to complete tasks completely and accurately.
- Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential.
- Strong oral and written communication time management and organizational skills are necessary.
- Ability to adjust to different work assignments adapt readily to changes and shift priorities as necessary.
- Report to and meet with supervisor monthly
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to stand walk or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather including inclement weather if required.
