What youll do

As a Youth Worker (known at LWB as a Therapeutic Residential Carer) you will work within the CARE model to enhance the lives of young people in our residential Out of Home Care program incorporating a therapeutic trauma-informed approach.

• You will help create a home-like environment for young people in care tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
• Assist with daily living such as cooking cleaning transporting the young people to school work and other activities
• Support each young person to engage with their community and family
• Supporting young people to attain their educational goals undertake extracurricular activities in line with their interests and support their connection to community and family.
• Act as an adult role model build relationships and trust with the young people and engage with them in purposeful activities
• Work with the young people through challenging and emotional times providing practical and trauma-informed support
• Utilise Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to help the young people work through complex behaviours

Successful candidates will be invited to a group interview on Tuesday 20^th January 2026.

Skills & Experience Youll Require

• Either hold or be actively working towards a Cert IV in Child & Family Intervention or other relevant qualification.
• Experience working with children who are at risk or in the care of Child Protection Family Services and/or experience working with vulnerable people
• Valid unrestricted Australian drivers licence.
• Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification. Must be obtained at your own cost.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check a Working with Children Check and an NT Child Protection Check.
