Fabrication Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fabrication Operator A fabricates steel frames and parts for boat position will be cross trained on all equipment including presses drills saws plasma cutters rail benders cranes and various hand tools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Follows daily schedules and produces required parts.

• Reads drawings and schematics to determine correct specifications of trailer parts.

• Operates machinery including presses drills saws plasma cutters rail benders cranes and various hand tools - Operator will have primary workstations but will be cross trained in as many areas as possible.

• Lifts and transports trailer rails and parts up to 50 lbs.

• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications

• Ability to read tape measure

• Basic math skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Will be required to pass pulmonary function and fit test if wearing a respirator

• Responsible for wearing PPE at all times based on the requirements of the job position

• Ability to distinguish basic colors

• Ability to distinguish shades of color

• Hearing (aid permitted)

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
