What Youll Do
As a Fabrication Specialist the candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of cable and tester fabrication. The candidate will leverage experience to train and certify fabricators develop qualification standards and provide expert troubleshooting on various machinery. Key responsibilities include managing the fabrication workflow coordinating with management to schedule work resolving production pinch points and ensuring necessary supplies are maintained to prevent work stoppages.
The role requires significant collaboration acting as a technical liaison between the fabrication team engineers and management to resolve complex issues and modernize the work environment. The candidate will operate with considerable independence in planning and carrying out daily tasks interpreting technical guidelines and recommending process improvements. The work directly impacts the quality efficiency and skill level of the fabrication team ensuring production goals are met through effective training coordination and problem-solving.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree with a minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- Masters degree with a minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- PhD degree with no experience
- OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements
In addition to the above requirements the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. Baccalaureate in engineering or related science 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States ordesignated equivalents thru ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).
- A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is preferred for up to four years post-graduation confirmed bytranscript at the time of offer. Beyond four years from graduation relevant experience will supersede GPA inhiring considerations
- Bachelors degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
- Masters degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA
- PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA
- 10 years of Fabrication/Machining Experience
