Make your mark:
This role provides teachers the opportunity to provide leadership to a team of teachers supporting young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement from education.
In addition to providing support for the team you will also be required to regularly collaborate with other Lead Teachers across the state to ensure cohesive program wide delivery. You will also be liaising with internal and external partners and funding bodies to promote the program report on outcomes and strengthen partnerships. Providing regular Supervision to the team is a component of this role as well as arranging and facilitating regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.
You will also be required to seek triage and allocate referrals in a timely manner.
Who are we looking for
- Considerable experience as a senior teacher preferably in a school or community-based setting and /or previous supervision leadership or management experience.
- Demonstrated commitment and capacity to actively contribute to and lead whole of program improvement initiatives
- Understanding of the Educational Partnering Agreement and other State Government Educational initiatives for children in out of home care such as LOOKOUT Centres.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining professional working relationship with a variety of key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people with complex needs understanding how trauma affects learning.
- The ability to thrive in a changing environment with competing priorities to manage stressful situations monitoring own stress levels and practising and promoting self-care strategies.
