Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality components and materials that meet engineering specifications quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Supplier Audits & Assessments: Conduct audits of suppliers processes systems and facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g. ISO/TS 16949 IATF 16949) and automotive industry regulations.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into supplier quality issues using tools like 8D Fishbone Diagrams FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and other problem-solving methodologies.

  • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Drive the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances. Follow up on action plans and ensure the effectiveness of solutions.

  • Supplier Development: Collaborate with suppliers to improve their processes quality control systems and overall performance. Provide technical support and guidance to improve their production capabilities and reduce defects.

  • Quality Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of supplier performance audit results quality issues and corrective actions. Prepare reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Incoming Material Inspections: Work with internal teams to ensure the incoming parts and materials meet quality expectations. Review inspection reports and assist in the evaluation of non-conforming parts.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to reduce variability increase efficiency and lower the cost of quality. This may include process optimizations lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma principles.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering production logistics and procurement teams to align supplier quality expectations with overall product requirements.

  • Supplier Selection & Evaluation: Assist in the selection of new suppliers based on quality performance production capabilities and alignment with company objectives.

  • Risk Management: Support risk management initiatives by assessing potential risks related to supplier quality especially concerning critical or high-risk parts and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
