Position Overview
A high-acuity emergency department in the Rochester NY area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a night-shift travel assignment. This role supports adult emergency patients across a wide range of critical and trauma-related diagnoses.
Scheduling & Charting
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
Charting System: EPIC (required)
RTO & Special Scheduling Requests: Must be submitted at time of submission
Call-Off Policy: Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without penalty
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Licensure & Certifications
Active New York State RN License required (NY is not a compact state)
Pending licenses not accepted
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
IV therapy: blood product administration central line care phlebotomy IV initiation and maintenance
IV vasopressor administration
CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Emergency care for adult and pediatric patients
Trauma experience including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
CVA (stroke) neuro-trauma spinal cord injury TBI
Triage experience
Pediatric spinal cord injury
Isolation precautions
Unit Details & Floating
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with all emergency-type diagnoses
Floating: Required within skill set
Special Equipment:
Bair Hugger
Rapid infuser
Safe patient handling equipment
Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
Additional Requirements
COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required per facility guidelines
