Job Summary

What are we looking for

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma (college degree is preferred but not required)

5 years of business office management experience is preferred

At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred

Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Competencies:

Knowledge of:

Financial acumen to manage office expenses invoices and contracts through the State of Montana accounting and budget software

State agency processes or a similarly related office environment

Office support functions and database management

Microsoft Office Suite Word Excel PowerPoint

Ability to:

Effectively communicate and build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders

Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

Prioritize work meet deadlines and manage multiple competing priorities

Motivate others to achieve important goals

Adapt to an ever-changing work environment

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule from a remote location within the State of Montana. Weekly travel to Helena offices will be required. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy. New Employees may be required to complete training in person before hybrid work schedules begin.

About this Position

The Research & Information Services (RIS) Office Manager position manages bureau support personnel and daily office operations while maintaining a pleasant work environment ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness communication and safety. The position supports the overall work of the RIS Bureau as well as the work of the Census and Economic Information Center (CEIC). The RIS Office Manager assists CEIC in supporting the development and distribution of census information producing materials website content and assisting with CEICs role in executing Census programs. This position will manage bureau support personnel as well as daily office operations.

This position is open until filled with a first application review date of December 30 2025 and every two weeks thereafter.
