Childcare Provider for Parenting Education Class
12 Week Grant Position
2.5 hours per week for 12 weeks- Feb 5th 2026- May 7th 2026; no class 3/26 due to Spring Break
$22.00/per hour- No Benefits No PERS
General Description; brief description of the job to be performed:
Provide childcare support and age appropriate activities for Fern Ridge School Districts Make Parenting a Pleasure program at Veneta Elementary school emphasis on STEM STEAM and Art activities encouraged.
Schedule: Thursdays from 9:15- 11:45am for a 12 week program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with Parenting Now and Family Resource Center staff.
Help to arrange and monitor the physical environment
Implement activities appropriate for children
Model and monitor appropriate behavior during activities
Assist children in making smooth transitions between activities
Monitor overall behavior and interactions among the group
Oversee snack safety and disbursement
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to pass a Fingerprint Background check with the Oregon Department of Education (cost is $82.50)
Background checks are required for each successful candidate prior to starting work
2 years experience in classroom or educational setting or equivalent combination of training and experience appropriate to the position preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized
Experience working with /and or educating young children
Understanding of child development and appropriate expectations for elementary and pre-elementary children
