Purpose of the Job
- Validate Basic Design Detailed design calculations & specification for Generator parts
- Technical Problem solving for site and manufacturing issues
- Lead complex root cause analysis of engg issues
- Establish design practices
- Innovate solutions to improve product technical performance and cost
- Represent GE in front of customers for Engg topics
Responsibilities
- Review and validate Basic detailed design and calculations for Generator Mechanical parts
- Write and review design practices. Ensure GE Design practices are applied
- Lead or participate in New product introduction (NPI) or New technology introduction (NTI) - Develop new technical solutions to improve product design quality and cost aspects
- Ensure specific customer requirements are reviewed at early stage of the project and risks mitigated. Highlight risks or deviations between specific requirements and GE design practices and escalate to consulting or chief engr.
- Ensure proper documentation of design reviews as per Engg process
- Problem solving for engg issues for Site and Supply chain
- Root cause analysis and corrective plan for complex Engg issues
- Share and participate in Feedback of experience exercise
- Develop engrs for technical career path
- Participate in project design meetings with customer

Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical or above
Knowledge / Experience
- At least 15 years in mechanical design of Hydro Generator.
- Experienced in Basic Design & calculations detail Engineering of Hydro Generator. Overview of Electrical design and knowledge of interdependencies with mechanical aspects
- Applied knowledge of Mechanical engg specifically strength of materials and mechanics
- Experienced in participating or leading NPIs NTIs
- Experienced with Root cause analysis process and tools
- Experienced in working and interacting at a global level
- Experienced in handling technical situations with customer
- Exposure to materials manufacturing Processes
- Experienced in Design & Engineering Processes from concept design till technical support
- Good level in MS Office Application
- User Level SAP System PLM (Enovia)
- User level experience in 3D CAD System preferably UG NX
