Digital Accessibility Specialist (Contract)
Location: Boston MA (Hybrid 1 day onsite per week)
Duration: 12 Months (Renewable)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist to join the Digital Services team as a subject matter expert in digital accessibility. This role partners closely with the Digital Accessibility Program Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure digital services content and applications meet accessibility standards and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail the ability to manage multiple projects and a passion for inclusive digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Accessibility Leadership
Serve as the subject matter expert on digital accessibility
Research and apply accessibility best practices standards and legislation (ADA Title II WCAG)
Stay current on accessibility tools technologies and policies
Promote accessibility awareness and advocate for inclusive digital experiences
Support internal communication efforts related to accessibility responsibilities
Accessibility Audits
Lead accessibility audits of digital assets to meet WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA
Prepare audit reports and collaborate with teams to remediate issues
Advise teams on integrating accessibility into design and development processes
Maintain audit plans tracking and documentation
Support digital asset inventory updates
Standards & Governance
Assist in developing and maintaining accessibility standards policies and best practices
Help establish checkpoints to ensure accessibility compliance across digital initiatives
Support governance and oversight activities related to accessibility
Identify risks and recommend solutions to improve accessibility outcomes
Required Experience
Hands-on experience applying accessibility usability and UX principles to digital content
Strong knowledge of ADA Title II WCAG 2.1 and Plain Language requirements
Proven experience conducting accessibility audits using tools such as:
Experience testing with assistive technologies:
Ability to research analyze and document findings in clear concise reports
Strong project coordination collaboration and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail
