Job Summary

Job Summary

The Academic Personnel Coordinator provides a broad range of administrative support services for a variety of campus-wide academic personnel programs. On a daily basis the incumbent works closely on projects and tasks with Academic Personnel (AP) staff and managers.

The incumbent serves as the primary receptionist for the Academic Personnel Office including answering the main office email and phone lines while acting with professionalism as the first point of contact and representative of the AP Office. The incumbent provides excellent customer service within AP to assist current academic employees academic applicants college and department staff and managers and other important constituents.

This is a full-time temporary position through December 31 2026 and is eligible for full benefits including medical dental vision and CalPERS retirement.

Department Summary

Academic Personnel supports faculty staff and administration regarding implementation of the Unit 3 and Unit 11 Collective Bargaining Agreements. The unit manages all aspects of faculty recruitment appointments evaluation and personnel matters.

Key Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of personnel or related policies guidelines and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationships with a diverse population.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to draft/compose correspondence and write clear and concise reports.
  • Skilled in using standard office software packages such as word processing spreadsheets databases electronic mail and calendaring systems. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently plan organize and prioritize multiple and shifting work objectives from multiple staff and managers and be accountable for results to meet deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a bachelors degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range:$57588 - $64860 per year

Classification Range: $57588 - $83904 per year

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience skills knowledge abilities education licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position based on internal equity budget and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
