Assists AOC staff with computers peripherals applications conference rooms and related technology supporting both hardware and software components. Provides journey-level expertise for all desktop support requirements and functions as part of the larger Desktop team.
Reporting to an Information Technology Manager or Information Technology Supervisor provides technical support and outstanding customer service to the Administrative Office of the Courts. Routinely interacts with all staff level within the agency. This position has limited decision making responsibility as defined by managerial level staff. Completes routine tasks independently adhering to established agency policies procedures and guidelines for computer software and hardware.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows all policies and procedures and specifically those IT policies and procedures that pertain to the work of Desktop Support.
- Collaborates with staff to provide responsive technical support for computers peripherals applications and related technology ensuring positive and productive user experience.
- Partners with team members to specify install and test computer systems and peripherals upholding established standards and proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Works collaboratively to diagnose and resolve unique non-recurring issues involving hardware application software and operating systems sharing insights and solutions to enhance team knowledge.
- Coordinates with colleagues to deliver first-level support for issues impacting computing equipment demonstrating ownership of problems from identification through resolution.
- Engages in independent analysis and open communication leveraging collective expertise to solve complex technical challenges and anticipating potential issues before they arise.
- Demonstrates initiative accountability and sound judgment while working with minimal supervision always striving to support teammates and foster a collaborative solution-oriented environment.
- Provides an excellent customer service experience by being friendly approachable listening being focused on resolving issues and following up to ensure the issue has been resolved to the customers satisfaction.
- Assists staff with the installation configuration and ongoing usability of computers peripheral equipment and software within established policies and procedures.
- Partners with vendor support to resolve technical issues with hardware or software taking ownership of each case and ensuring solutions are both timely and considerate of the end users needs.
- Works closely with Help Desk Security and Network Operations teams to efficiently identify prioritize and resolve technical problems reported by AOC staff fostering open communication and a team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Ensures computers integrate seamlessly with a variety of systems including validation systems file servers email servers conferencing platforms application servers and administrative systems by proactively collaborating with other departments and addressing compatibility concerns.
- Provides compassionate and clear training opportunities and orientation for staff on hardware and core software usage demonstrating patience and consideration for individual learning styles and challenges.
- Maintains up-to-date images of Windows workstations to enable rapid reliable deployment of computers anticipating future needs and reducing downtime for users.
- Proactively recommends and performs system upgrades demonstrating foresight and a commitment to the long-term reliability and performance of agency technology.
- Maintains accurate and detailed ticket records for all support activities ensuring transparency accountability and effective communication with both customers and team members.
- Creates and maintains how-to documentation.
- Embraces additional responsibilities as needed provided by a supervisor or team members consistently prioritizing tasks to deliver high-quality customer-centered service and support to the organization.
Qualifications and Credentials
A combination of education and experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of the functions and typical work of a Desktop Support position may substitute for the qualifications listed.
A bachelors degree in information technology Computer Science or closely allied field; AND
- One (1) year of experience performing technical information technology work in an information technology environment.

- Ability to continuously learn document implement troubleshoot and adhering to associated policies and procedures.

- Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Office 365 and the broader Microsoft 365 environment and applications.
- Skilled in using problem ticket tracking systems for effective issue management.
- Base knowledge of virus prevention and endpoint security software.
- Knowledge of Active Directory administration including user and computer account management. ManageEngine OS Deployment or other image deployment utilities as well as pre-imaging configuration using system preparation tools and practices.
- Proficient in ManageEngine Endpoint Central or similar device management applications including expertise in imaging remote support patch management device management and application deployment tools
- Basic knowledge of network diagnostics.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills using advanced techniques and methods with the ability to resolve complex and unfamiliar issues independently or collectively. Works the problem to resolution.
- Ability to proactively learn new technologies adopted by AOC or as they grow naturally in the industry through self-education research and any other tool available to acquire proficiencies in the technologies supported by the Desktop Support team.
- Ability to take ownership of research and resolve issues that are not known conditions independently and/or collaboratively.
- Ability to use document creation tools to create clear and user-friendly documents that assist users in undertaking tasks.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear concise and helpful way to users who may be struggling to adopt new technologies or learn new skills.
