Overview:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing optimizing and maintaining manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production. This role ensures high-quality output cost efficiency and compliance with industry standards. The engineer will work closely with production quality and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues implement improvements and support new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Development & Optimization:

  • Design implement and improve manufacturing processes for fiber optic cable production.

  • Analyze process data toidentifyinefficiencies and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop andmaintainprocess documentation including SOPs and work instructions.

  • Quality & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve defects andmaintainproduct integrity.

  • Equipment & Technology:

  • Work with vendors on equipment upgrades and maintenance strategies.

  • Collaborate with R&D on process requirements for new fiber optic cable designs.

  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.

  • Support cost reduction projects without compromising quality.

  • Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Provide technical support to production teams for process-related issues.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Mechanical ElectricalIndustrialor similar Engineeringrelated field.

  • Experience:

  • 1-year practical experience in manufacturing environment encompassing manufacturing engineering statistical planning techniques business systems project managementand orquality control. Experience through internships or co-ops preferred.

  • Knowledge of extrusion polymer processing and optical fiber handling is a plus.

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarityinstatistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Other:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previousexperience intelecommunications or fiber optic cable manufacturing.

  • Hands-on experience withextrusion processes including polymer handling and die design.

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production lines.

  • Occasional lifting of materials and standing for extended periods.
