Senior iOS Engineer

Location: Calgary Canada (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Duration: 12-month engagement

Rate: $45-50/hr on W2

Role Overview

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to design build and evolve high-quality iOS applications. This role requires deep platform expertise strong computer science fundamentals and a passion for performance scalable architecture and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and build scalable iOS applications using Swift 6.2 and SwiftUI
Write clean testable maintainable and high-performance code
Leverage Apple APIs such as LocalAuthentication and CommonCrypto
Optimize application performance using profiling tools and concurrency strategies
Guide architectural decisions and implementation patterns
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Collaborate closely with product design backend and QA teams
Use AI tools responsibly to enhance development productivity
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Required Skills & Experience

Strong computer science fundamentals (memory management data structures algorithms concurrency)
Expert-level Swift with working knowledge of Objective-C
Deep experience with UIKit and SwiftUI
Proven experience shipping complex production iOS applications
Strong architectural experience (MVC MVVM etc.)
Knowledge of iOS build signing provisioning and release lifecycle
Experience with CI/CD pipelines instrumentation and debugging tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Desired Skills

Experience developing or consuming APIs
Awareness of Android development concepts
Strong user experience (UX) sensibility
Collaborative pragmatic and team-oriented engineering mindset
