Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides skilled nursing care to high-risk high-volume obstetrical patients including midwifery clients private OBs and those in adult recovery services. Responsibilities include circulating newborn care and working in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The RN will float between Postpartum/Antepartum and sister facilities that do Mother/Baby.
Location:Seattle Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Circulate in the Operating Room
- Provide newborn care including eye and thigh injections and newborn assessments
- Monitor and administer medications such as Heparin Insulin and Magnesium Sulfate
- Function as a Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care until transfer to postpartum
- Float to Postpartum/Antepartum and sister facilities that do Mother/Baby
- Electronic fetal monitoring
- Assist with Midwifery clients private OBs Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery Community care clinics
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a high-acuity and high-pace Labor & Delivery environment
- Proven experience with high-risk Labor & Delivery patients
- Must have current supervisory references
- Proof of required certifications with submission
- Proof of current NURSYS
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification
- AWHONN Advanced certification
- AWHONN Intermediate certification
- EPIC experience
Special Considerations:
- Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be able to circulate and provide newborn care including eye and Vit K injections thighs and newborn assessments.
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers.
Scheduling:
- Schedule is posted every 6 weeks
- Schedule is determined based on unit needs
- Must be flexible to meet unit needs
