Job Description:

Overall Purpose of the Role:

As a member of the China Finance Leadership Team the Associate Finance Director will provide strategic financial stewardship and commercial insight to drive sustainable profitable growth for the China market. This role is responsible for orchestrating two critical pillars:Commercial Pricing Strategy & GovernanceandHolding Company Financial Control & Planning. The ideal candidate will act as a key strategic partner to senior management shaping long-term financial strategy optimizing commercial performance through relevant pricing architecture and ensuring a comprehensive governance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Financial Leadership & Business Partnership (Pricing and HOCO)

  • Serve as the principal financial architect and strategic advisor to the commercial and executive leadership teams translating complex financial data into actionable strategic insights that inform top-level decision-making.
  • Champion key strategic initiatives including portfolio management market access strategies and investment opportunities by providing rigorous financial modeling and clear business case justifications.
  • Cultivate and deepen cross-functional partnerships influencing stakeholders at all levels by articulating the value creation narrative and embedding financial acumen across the organization.
  • Proactively identify and communicate key business risks and opportunities challenging the status quo to drive enhanced efficiency speed and overall business performance.

2. Pricing & Commercial Excellence

  • Orchestrate the end-to-end pricing strategy for the China market ensuring alignment with global directives while adapting to local market dynamics to maximize profitability and market share.
  • Govern the development and execution of major pricing initiatives from new product launches to rebate structures ensuring they are analytically sound and strategically aligned.
  • Elevate the organizations pricing capabilities by championing the development of advanced analytical tools standardized processes and a culture of data-driven commercial decision-making.
  • Perform Fair Market Value Assessment (FMVA) with channel insights
  • Act as the strategic lead for China in global and regional pricing and margin acceleration projects ensuring local market nuances are represented and global best practices are effectively localized and implemented.

3. Financial Control Reporting & Planning (Pricing and HOCO)

  • Leadership and collaboration through planning cycles including annual budgeting quarterly forecasting and long-range strategic planning ensuring robust assumptions and alignment with business objectives.
  • Ensure the integrity accuracy and timeliness of all financial planning and reporting for the Holding Company providing executive-level analysis and commentary on performance variances and trends.
  • Drive operational excellence within the finance function by identifying opportunities for process improvement digitalization and the adoption of industry best practices.

4. Governance Compliance & Risk Management (Pricing and HOCO)

  • Champion and uphold an exceptional compliance and control environment ensuring adherence to all corporate policies SOX requirements and local statutory regulations.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the end-to-end financial processes related to Pricing and HOCO proactively identifying potential areas of weakness and directing the implementation of robust remediation plans.
  • Serve as the key finance liaison for internal and external audits related to Pricing and HOCO as well as matters related to treasury tax and dividends ensuring transparent and effective management.

5. Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead mentor and develop a high-performing team fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous professional growth.
  • Act as a change agent within the organization leading complex cross-functional projects.

Required Qualifications

Consider and identify qualifications potential applicants must possess to be considered for the position. Basic Qualifications must be clearly stated objective and relevant to this position.

Required Minimum Education: Bachelors or Equivalent and above Other Major in finance accounting and management related field

Required Years of Related Experience: 10 Years Other Professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA CMA) and MBA is highly preferred.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Uncompromised requirements for the role):

(Include any required computer skills certifications licenses languages etc.)

  • 10 years of progressive experience in finance with a demonstrated track record of leadership in both commercial finance (pricing business partnering) and corporate finance (FP&A controlling).
  • Proven experience in managing and developing teams of finance professionals.
  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable financial plans.
  • Outstanding communication presentation and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in a complex data-driven environment.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
