The Stores Tax Leader will lead the Stores tax planning team (10) responsible for developing and implementing the tax strategy for the Amazon Stores business in the Greater China region.
Key job responsibilities
Monitor and analyze legislative developments working with internal stakeholders and outside advisors.
Be part of the Tax team representing Amazon China in front of national and local tax authorities.
Collaboration with cross functional teams (business legal accounting and finance) to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into new business decisions expansion into new markets new product offerings or restructuring of operations providing practical solutions that align to companys strategy and vision.
Provide guidance and strategic tax advice on international tax implications of cross-border and local transactions.
Conduct in-depth technical analysis decision-making and problem-solving on complex tax matters.
Manage responses to internal and external information requests from tax perspective.
Address the above aspects in a comprehensive and cohesive manner considering not only corporate tax withholding tax indirect tax and transfer pricing implications but also accounting and regulatory considerations.
A day in the life
As the Stores Tax Leader the leader will not only have primary responsibility for managing tax planning tax policy tax law changes and overall tax risk management but also provide strategic guidance to the tax audit compliance and controversy functions. This role is a key enabler for the success of the Stores business given the strategic importance of the supply chain in China for the broader Stores organization.
- 10 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 10 years of tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance experience
- 5 years of managing a high caliber team experience
- Experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience
- Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests
