Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant II provides clerical and secretarial support to a high school Assistant Principal District-wide program or department Director or Supervisor. The Administrative Assistant II assists the assigned administrator in carrying out his or her functional responsibilities and relieves the assigned administrator of administrative detail. Assigned duties require a working knowledge of the program or functions for which the Administrative Assistant II supports.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Job-related education necessary to perform the essential job duties is typically consistent with graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Two years of increasingly responsible clerical and secretarial experience involving record keeping and frequent contact with the public is required.

12 months / 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. / 40 hours per week

Effective January 1 2026 and in accordance with California Education Code Section 44051(a)(1) any applicant for a non-teaching position must disclose acomplete list of every school district county office of education charter school state special school and diagnostic center operated by the department of education and private school that the applicant has previously been an employee of including full-time part-time or substitute roles. Failure to providethis information may be considered an act of dishonesty and could affect hiring decisions.
Examination process: Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in an examination process. Exam components may consist ofa multiple choice test (weight: 20%) performance test (weight: 30%) and a Qualifications Appraisal Interview (weight: 50%).
The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional - Dual Certification. Candidates who pass all exams are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The list is used to fill current and future vacancies for six months.
If a candidate has taken the multiple choice and/or performance test for this San Dieguito Union High School District job title or similar job title within the past two years candidate may be able to transfer the scores to this recruitment. The exam must be sufficiently similar as determined by the Director Classified Personnel. Prior to the application deadline a request to transfer score(s) should be e-mailed to:
