- Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on Diesel and Gas Vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with Ford and/or dealership standards.
- Certified Diesel Technicians diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine transmission electrical steering suspension braking air conditioning etc. to specification.
- Provide estimates for additional automotive repairs and recommended maintenance.
- Fully understands and carries out repair orders as dispatched.
- Performs quality control checks to ensure repairs are completed.
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Follows all shop policy procedure safety and environmental rules.
- Communicates effectively with Service Advisor and Parts department personnel
- Participates in company and Ford Certification training and education to further develop expertise. Attends all staff meetings trainings and educational classes as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED required
- Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience and Ford Diesel Certification preferred
- One year of dealer-level truck or large facility experience preferred
- Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
- Unrestricted drivers license and clean driving record
- Excellent communication customer service and problem solving skills including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers vendors and staff
- Highly professional and dependable
- Safety and customer service oriented
- Basic computer and internet skills
