Position Overview:
For over a decade Omega Law has provided compassionate high-quality legal representation to Californias most vulnerable communities. As part of our commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of older adults we are expanding our Elder Justice practice and seeking an Elder Abuse Attorney to join our team.
The Elder Abuse Attorney will provide direct legal services and advocacy for older and dependent adults experiencing abuse neglect or exploitation. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors and dependent adults by ensuring their safety autonomy and access to justice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide client-centered trauma-informed representation in nursing home abuse and neglect cases including intake investigation negotiation and litigation.
- Handle cases involving injuries neglect financial exploitation and wrongful death in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
- Collaborate with medical experts investigators and social service agencies to build strong cases and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Participate in strategy sessions case reviews and firm meetings to move the cases.
- Mentor or collaborate with paralegals legal assistants and co-counsel on assigned matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Active member of the CA Bar in good standing (required).
- Minimum 3-5 years of elder abuse attorney experience including litigation (required).
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in elder law conservatorships restraining orders or protective proceedings.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy and negotiations skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in case management system
- Bilingual proficiency (especially in Spanish) highly desirable.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $120k $200000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
