Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel Stage 2 Sydneys third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
Civil Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
Surface level work including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
ACCIONA is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our project delivery team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while ensuring safety quality and sustainability standards are met.
Specific Tasks Include
- Prepare and manage safety construction and quality documentation (SWMS ITPs procedures permits).
- Administer contract works ensuring compliance with Safety Environmental and Quality standards.
- Manage permits approvals and ensure daily site activities align with design and specifications.
- Support planning execution and handover of project deliverables within time cost and quality targets.
- Assist with procurement purchase orders and material traceability.
- Track costs monitor productivity and prepare accurate daily/weekly/monthly reports.
- Contribute to look-ahead planning scheduling and coordination with supervisors and project teams.
- Undertake audits maintain registers and ensure Quality Management System compliance.
- Record and report daily progress delays variations and subcontractor activities.
- Participate in inductions pre-start meetings and promote company policies and code of conduct.
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Experience delivering major Sydney road / tunnel infrastructure projects
- Excavation experience would be highly beneficial
- Strong knowledge of construction processes safety standards and quality management systems.
- Ability to manage costs productivity measures and reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills with clients supervisors and project teams.
- Commitment to workplace health safety and sustainability principles.
