Technical Specialist - Tier 2 (Client)

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Specialist Tier 2 (Client) to join our Support team. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert for filesystem and virtualization backups across multiple platforms. This role is critical in identifying analyzing and mitigating technical blockers affecting client agents system performance and installation configurations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OS internals (Windows/Linux) storage systems and hypervisors. You will be responsible for working with engineering to drive defect fixes and ensuring our customers data protection environments run efficiently.

What youll do

  • Provide in-depth technical support for filesystem and virtualization backups/recovery across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot client agents performance bottlenecks and complex installation or configuration issues.
  • Analyze client logs crash dumps and performance metrics to determine root causes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to coordinate defect fixes and validate solutions.
  • Support specific hypervisor backup/recovery administration (Cloud or On-Prem).
  • Utilize scripting languages (Shell Python PowerShell) to assist in troubleshooting or data analysis.
  • Ensure transparency of issue status through clear reporting and communication with stakeholders.
  • Stay current with OS updates (Windows Linux macOS) and networking fundamentals to proactively solve connectivity flows.

Who you are

  • 8 years of experience in client/system support or a related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux OS internals (file systems networking services) and Storage Systems (SAN/NAS).
  • Expertise in at least one hypervisor (Cloud or On-prem) regarding backups recovery and administration.
  • Strong understanding of file-system backup and recovery workflows.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets client logs and performance metrics; familiarity with Crash Dump analysis is a plus.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Shell Python or PowerShell) and networking fundamentals (ports firewalls).
  • Excellent communication problem-solving and time management skills.
