Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a QE - Supply Chain Quality Manager to join our procurement team based in Columbus MS.

In this role you will manage the supplier contract execution and be responsible for supplier (On Quality / On Time) performance. You will also coordinate the interfaces of all the stakeholders involved in the supplier operations management and secure coordination with the corresponding Multi-Functional or Divisional Team.

The Procurement teams mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters playing a major role in generating value and supplying to the overall competitiveness of the company. Our team members ensure on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems drawing on their expertise in Industrial Operations & Quality Management and strong relationship building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate supply chain issues.

Your Working Environment:

On the eastern border of Mississippi youll find Columbus home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. Its here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your Challenges:

  • You will be the focal point towards the suppliers for operational activities and contract management and an ambassador of the supplier toward internal functions

  • You need to be able to manage the supply chain & quality aspects of the contract being responsible for on-time on-quality (and on-cost when applicable) performance

  • Assessing the supplier capacity capability and performance; and contributing to the suppliers development is a key element

  • The SCQM will have a comprehensive understanding of working with customer (internal/external) demands being manifested in various forms of communication (Service Letter Agreement meetings conference call e-mails) and utilizing these through the CI process

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Aviation or Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field preferred

  • Minimum five (5) years of technical experience in the field of Quality Supply Chain or Engineering

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis E.g. Practical Problem Solving or similar 8D type tools

  • AS9100 Auditor or equivalent training

  • Team working mindset

  • Authorized to work in the US

Physical Requirements:

  • Onsite or remote: <75% Onsite

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens able to read documents reports and engineering drawings. Daily

  • Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily

  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings deliver information and participate in communications. Daily

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer telephone copies fax machine and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily

  • Carrying: able to carry documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Frequently

  • Lifting: able to lift documents tools drawings electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Frequently

  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings working on the computer. Daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily

  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Several times a quarter

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily

  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes but is not limited to Safety Shoes Safety Glasses Hearing Protection Respirators/Masks and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
