The AFS Undergrad & Internship Program is a structured two-year pathway designed for those who want to combine study with real paid work experience in a professional services firm.

Youll gain hands-on exposure across multiple teams supported by mentoring study assistance and genuine career development all while building skills that set you up for long-term success.

There are two spots available for the 2026 program.

About the program

This is a two-year fixed-term program commencing in February 2026. Its designed to support you while you study whether thats through university or CA Foundations.

Across the 2 years youll complete bi-annual rotations through our core service areas:

  • Audit & Assurance
  • Governance Risk & Controls Advisory
  • Financial Reporting & Corporate Advisory
  • Business Services.

These rotations help you explore different career paths build a broad base skill set and find where youre best suited.

Depending on your rotation you may:

  • Prepare financial statements tax returns and compliance documents
  • Support audits by reviewing records testing controls and assisting with reporting
  • Analyse financial data to support better business decisions
  • Assist with risk governance and business advisory projects
  • Learn and use industry-standard accounting and audit software
  • Work alongside experienced professionals on real client matters.

Youll be supported by a mentor and a buddy with structured development across communication critical thinking client service digital skills and professional confidence. Technical skills are reviewed in each rotation to help you grow.

Who should apply

This opportunity is ideal for:

  • Year 12 school leavers (2024 or 2025) willing to undertake CA Fundamentals or
  • First-year university undergraduates (or those commencing in 2026) studying accounting finance business economics commerce or a related field.

No prior accounting experience is required just curiosity commitment and a genuine interest in a career in business.

Work and study balance

  • 35 days per week flexed around your study timetable
  • Fixed-term (up to two years)
  • Up to 8 days of paid study leave per year
  • Generous financial study support for HECS or CA Fundamentals fees.

Location

Based in Bendigos CBD with occasional travel to client sites.
