Safety Analysis Engineer Intern
The role of this Safety Analysis Engineer Intern is to support transient safety analysis of the Natrium SFR. Knowledge and experience of nuclear system computer codes (e.g. RELAP5 TRACE MELCOR) is strongly preferred. This work may include analysis of Licensing Basis Events (LBEs) sensitivity study and uncertainty quantification etc.
Under the TerraPowers Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor Program the Safety Analysis Engineer Intern receives administrative technical and project supervision from the Transient Safety Analysis Manager.
Responsibilities
Perform parameter sensitivity analysis.
Perform uncertainty quantification calculation for LBEs
Perform transient safety analysis of postulated accidents for SFR.
Write Report to summarize the analysis results.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Mechanical engineering nuclear engineering or relevant engineering majors.
Computational model development experience or interest.
Research and writing experience.
