Role description:
Arcadis is looking to add aSenior Structural Engineer(P. Eng.) to join the Toronto/GTA team.
The successful individual will develop manage and lead projects for the construction of new or modification of existing commercial industrial and institutional buildings and structures. Indeed it would be great if you have worked on heavy industrial capital construction projects focused on wastewater transit subway/LRT and infrastructure for example.
This is a project leadership role so Arcadis is seeking a well-experienced structural professional who can build strong professional relationships with internal and external teams and stakeholders while working in a dynamic project environment. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Role accountabilities:
- Lead collaborate and provide direction to the Engineering and CAD teams to ensure the Teams can successfully deliver the project requirements to the client
- Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients. Attend meetings with clients and Stakeholders as needed and when required
- Deliver structural modelling analysis and design including the preparation and review of structural reports and drawings. This will also include reviewing constructability staging drawings construction schedules and cost estimates.
- Identify structural deficiencies provide remedial options
- Review construction submittals
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum10 yearsof relevant experience in structural design
- Project leadership focused on structural design on heavy industrial projects or complex capital construction projects like transit wastewater subway/LRT to mention a few
- Proven strong technical skills related to problem solving analytical review building codes and standards etc. Deep knowledge of leading a project through the process and coordinating with a range of multi-disciplinary professionals and stakeholders
- Experience going to project sites and working with on-site professionals
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; able to independently write reports and correspondence
- Software skills related to: SAP2000 ROBOT RISA RFEM ETABS SAFE Bluebeam Acrobat MS Office. Proficiency in Plaxis 3D is an asset.
- Professional Engineer Registration in Ontario or another Canadian province
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; Masters degree in Structural Engineering is an asset

The salary range for this position is $100000 to $135000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualifications for the role.
