This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting testing and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies; and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings
Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place
Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code
Complete detailed inspection reports documenting any issues
Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
Protect and maintain company equipment
Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment submitting repair requests as necessary
Operate warehouse equipment including vehicles following all safety regulations and manufacturer instructions
Work in accordance with company safety procedures including driver safety and proper use of PPE
Respond to emergency service calls
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Education/Qualification
A high school education or equivalent preferred
Trade experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge of fire extinguishers or fire protection industry standards is preferred but not required.
Troubleshooting skills
Must be flexible with scheduling including occasional evenings weekends and out-of-town assignments
Knowledge of principles and practices of life safety
Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and the ability to interpret apply and explain them
Ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs
Other Duties
Adheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety Policy
Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand walk use hands to handle or feel reach with arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl and occasionally lift/move heavy objects
Requires physical abilities such as balancing climbing grasping hearing mental acuity pulling pushing repetitive motion speaking and visual acuity.
Pay Rate: $20-25 plus commission.
