This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting testing and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies; and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings

  • Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place

  • Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code

  • Complete detailed inspection reports documenting any issues

  • Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner

  • Protect and maintain company equipment

  • Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment submitting repair requests as necessary

  • Operate warehouse equipment including vehicles following all safety regulations and manufacturer instructions

  • Work in accordance with company safety procedures including driver safety and proper use of PPE

  • Respond to emergency service calls

  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Education/Qualification

  • A high school education or equivalent preferred

  • Trade experience is preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of fire extinguishers or fire protection industry standards is preferred but not required.

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Must be flexible with scheduling including occasional evenings weekends and out-of-town assignments

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of life safety

  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and the ability to interpret apply and explain them

  • Ability to review documents for completeness and accuracy

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports

  • Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs

Other Duties

  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety Policy

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand walk use hands to handle or feel reach with arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl and occasionally lift/move heavy objects

  • Requires physical abilities such as balancing climbing grasping hearing mental acuity pulling pushing repetitive motion speaking and visual acuity.

Pay Rate: $20-25 plus commission.
