Job Summary

The ELL Instructor will provide in-person English language instruction typically at beginner-to-intermediate level to adult students. Immediate need is for an instructor available to teach a once/weekly Beginners Level 1 class on Wednesday evening (5:30 7:00 PM) from late January through early June. Ideally able to also teach a twice/weekly late afternoon class on Mondays & Wednesdays to Level 2 Beginners. Working closely and with guidance from the ELL Team the instructor will also review and improve course materials understand participants needs develop engaging lesson plans and ensure the relevant learning resources are available. Mercy Connections is a community-based education and social service organization empowering people to make significant life changes through education mentoring entrepreneurship and community. Our programs and classes support the education of underserved adults including immigrants and refugees people at various transition points in their lives and justice-involved women needing support for re-entry into their communities. Programs are designed to help participants with improved well-being academics literacy job readiness business ownership leadership English and U.S. addition the organization is a center for community and fellowship with a culture of radical hospitality; all people are welcome to join programs and social currently 4-10 hours per week depending on class load for the January to June 2026 Semester.
