A leading organisation is seeking a dynamic Sales Consultant to join its Energy and Transportation business unit. This role is being recruited on behalf of a client offering the opportunity to champion engine sales within the Boksburg Power region while managing a key product portfolio in Perkins Engines.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in growing and sustaining engine sales managing a designated territory and driving new business opportunities. This position requires strong technical knowledge exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to manage the full sales cycle with precision and confidence.
Key Duties
- Meet month-to-month sales targets in New Retail Electrical Power.
- Upsell additional products and services linked to Perkins Electric Power and Industrial engines.
- Grow and sustain engine sales within allocated territories and customer bases.
- Manage territory and accounts effectively.
- Oversee the tender process.
- Generate leads and nurture customer relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Handle sales administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct sales forecasting.
- Demonstrate effective self-management and performance ownership.
- Manage all aspects of the sales process.
- Apply knowledge of Perkins Electric Power and Industrial product lines including accessories and work tools.
- Utilise CRM systems effectively.
- Use MS Office confidently.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years sales experience in Electrical Power and/or industrial equipment/engines.
- Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Diploma (or equivalent).
- Salesforce experience.
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office.
- Excellent customer relationship skills.
- Business planning and development knowledge.
- Strong communication negotiation and presentation skills.
- Effective time management and self-management.
- Solid technical knowledge of Perkins engines accessories and work tools.
- Extensive experience in a technical sales role (Electrical Power and/or Industrial Equipment).
- Financial acumen including understanding of costs and trading margins.
