About Texas Performing Arts
Texas Performing Arts (TPA) is the professional arts presenting and producing program of The University of Texas at Austin. One of the largest and most active university-based performing arts centers in the U.S. TPA is an anchor institution in Austins arts cultural and entertainment landscape. TPA operates venues on the UT campus including Austins largest theater Bass Concert Hall. Its public programs include Broadway in Austin; an international season of dance theater music and more; and the Texas Welcomes series of national touring artists. TPA is part of UTs College of Fine Arts and engages students across the university in creative experiences.
Purpose
The Student Audio Assistant will provide audio service for Texas Performing Arts Academic Production events and performances.

Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean cables microphones and stands.
Set up cables microphones stands speakers and intercom.
Strike all equipment and return to proper storage area.
Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
Wear close-toed shoes or work boots.
Lifting and moving of 50 pounds or more.
Work from heights and in confined spaces.
Practice professional customer service skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Willingness to follow technical instructions.
Willingness to work as part of a team.
Have an interest in audio systems and sound reinforcement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Working knowledge of software based media applications (i.e. ProTools Q-Lab etc).
Experience mixing live sound.
Knowledge of audio consoles microphones cabling connector types.

$12.50/hour
Working Conditions
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Prolonged screen time.
Significant in person over the phone and written communication with members of the public
Physically able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds.
Works independently and unsupervised on a regular basis.
Work collaboratively as member of a team with people of varied backgrounds.
Work Shift
Regular shifts during normal working hours (M-F 9-5) as well as event based night and weekend responsibility
