The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Associate 1 to work at UHealth Boca Raton.
Core Job Summary
The Research Associate 1 SOM supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education training and research.
Core Responsibilities
Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
Participates in the publication of significant results.
Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods techniques and developments within the area of research.
Collects prepares analyzes dissects and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
Performs a variety of routine assays tests and studies.
Performs calculations to complete research test results collects data and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
The Department of Neurology Cognitive Program is actively seeking a full-time bilingual (English Spanish) Research Associate 1. The Research Associate 1 supports research activities under the direction of a principal investigator or designee of the principal investigator.
Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies /substudies.
Participates in the publication of significant research results.
Advances expertise through education training and research.
Participates in training sessions and workshops.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Complete questionnaires and neuropsychological evaluations of cognitive outcomes of normal aging in men and women as part of a nutritional intervention study.
Ensures study participants are provided in-person handoff of investigational product.
Assists the senior clinical research coordinator with managing electronic case report forms database input and IRB compliance.
Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies /sub studies.

Core Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in relevant field required
No prior experience required
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred as studies recruit diverse populations.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary.
