Job Summary

Position Summary

The Newman Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Denver is currently seeking part-time lead audio associates to assist with the execution of events at the Newman Center. Lead Audio Associates are responsible for assisting the Production Coordinator- Audio with preparation and execution of technical requirements for Newman Center events.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Support the Newman Center Production Coordinator- Audio with backstage event operations.
  • Assist the Audio Production Coordinator with preproduction and day-of-show tasks for large events
  • Serve as the lead audio personnel when the Audio Production Coordinator is not available for events

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Provide excellent customer service for all Newman Center participants and patrons.
  • Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Able to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in area of specificity and able to maintain all required certifications and licensures as they pertain to the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with theatrical/performance audio systems audio consoles and wireless audio systems .
  • Ability to read audio paperwork e.g. stage diagrams input lists etc.
  • As required for specific roles needed on an event-by-event basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 Years experience with theatrical/performance audio systems audio consoles monitor engineering
  • Experience with setting up and programming Digital Audio Network (DANTE)

Work Schedule

Part-time hours will vary based on event schedule. Must be available to work nights and weekends.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $30.00-$40.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
