Job Summary

Job Summary

Work independently under general supervisor to process travel authorizations and reimbursements. Work withing fiscal analyst team to provide general and specialized fiscal duties.

Essential Functions

  • Match input prepare all supporting documentation for distribution of accounts payable.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and receiving to ensure controls and accuracy of payments.
  • Investigate and find resolutions to contested or questioned transactions.
  • Perform document validation to meet demanding internal controls.
  • When cashier is absent back up by providing front line assistance at cashier counter; receive and post payments to student accounts balance cash drawer.
  • Establish accounts in ctcLink; receive track and maintain W-9 records; maintain 1099 records and reporting manage filing system clear errors.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with college vendors.
  • Complete and maintain Dept of Revenue tax reports annual IRS Form 1099 production and distribution unclaimed properties scheduled transfers and general input.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting auditing or budgeting.
  • One year of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal controls and separation of duties.
  • Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel preferred).
  • Or if you do not meet one or more of qualifications listed above but have an applicable combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with fund accounting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously and carry out assignments under pressure with short deadlines and/or frequent interruptions.
  • Experience working in a community college or other higher education environment.
    • Experience with PeopleSoft.
    • Experience creating digital content (such as Word/PDF documents and web and learning management system content as appropriate to the role) in accessible formats.
    • Bilingual to Spanish and English.

  • Demonstrated ability to use exceptional communication and interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism empathy diplomacy discretion and integrity in interactions with diverse constituencies.
  • Oral communication: Speak clearly and persuasively actively listen and take the time to understand the points being made including asking questions as appropriate and responding to questions.
  • High level of proficiency and accuracy in software packages including word processing spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Quality: Accurate and thorough prepare detailed reports evaluate processes to identify ways to improve and promote quality.

Terms of Employment:

The current vacancy in fiscal services is a full-time overtime and benefit eligible position expected to begin as soon as possible.

The starting salary hiring range is $45732 annually ($21.90 per hour) to $51588 annually ($24.71 per hour) with periodic increases and earning potential to $61404 annually ($29.41 per hour). Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position. The list established by this recruitment will be used for this position only.

  • Work hours are generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (1 hour lunch); hours and days may change depending on the needs of the college.
  • Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records.
  • Regular and consistent attendance required.
