Special Education Team Chair

Position Title: Team Chair Randolph High School & DonovanReports To: Assistant Principal Randolph High School and Assistant Principal DonovanLocation: Randolph High School and DonovanGeneral DescriptionThe Special Education Team Chair serves as the instructional and compliance leader for special education processes within their assigned school(s). The Team Chair ensures that all IEP processes timelines evaluations and service delivery are compliant with IDEA Section 504 and Massachusetts Special Education Regulations (603 CMR 28.00). This role supports administrators teachers related service providers and families by coordinating evaluation teams facilitating IEP meetings and ensuring high-quality student-centered ideal candidate is organized solutions-oriented collaborative and able to lead with both compassion and Duties and ResponsibilitiesIEP Process & ComplianceEnsure all special education timelines are met including 45-day annual review three-year reevaluation and initial evaluation referral screening and evaluation processes. - Obtaining signed consents. - Scheduling meetings with parents and staff. - File review and summary writing. - Monitoring procedural safeguardsMonitor compliance with all state and federal regulations including procedural safeguards and LRE accurate and timely documentation in the districts IEP/504 management all IEPs and evaluation reports meet RPS and DESE quality standards before Facilitation & Family EngagementServe as primary facilitator for Initial RE-Evaluation and Extended Evaluation IEP meetings are well-prepared focused on student needs and grounded in effectively with families regarding evaluation results services and procedural a family-centered approach that builds trust and promotes collaborative guidance on specialized programming decisions and appropriate accommodations/ & LeadershipPartner with building principals assistant principals school psychologists BCBAs related service providers and district in building-based child study/student support team meetings and provide guidance on interventions prior to to professional development for staff on special education procedures compliance and best Reporting & DocumentationReview assessment data to support team required DESE and district compliance with transportation updates and evaluation organized records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and state of 688 referrals and student performance summaries for (High School Specific)Coordinate MCAS accommodations and collaborate with MCAS coordinatorProgram Quality & Continuous ImprovementSupport the Director of Special Education in monitoring specialized program fidelity (e.g. RISE ILC TLC).Identify trends in referrals compliance and service delivery and propose in program reviews and help implement district initiatives related to inclusive practices and specialized and monitor special transportation requests for students with of EmploymentFull-time position (school year additional days if needed for summer IEP/transition work)Salary and benefits per the Randolph Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement
