Job Summary

Help Desk Support Specialist-Full-time

Salary: $57200 to $65000 (Offer will be commensurate with experience)

Role Summary:

Provides first line technical support to the Citys Information Technology (IT) users. Responds to a variety of service requests including troubleshooting of software hardware and network issues implements new hardware/software documents procedures problems and resolutions. Works on related IT projects.

Education Training and Experience Required:

  • Associates degree in computer science information technology or related field
  • Professional experience in working with computers and applications: at least 1 year
  • Knowledge of computer hardware software and networks
  • Knowledge and experience in computer scripting
  • Have or be able to obtain Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification within one (1)year of date-of-hire
  • Have or be able to obtain Comp TIA A Certification within one (1) year of date-of-hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The City of Ann Arbor at its discretion may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience.

Education Training and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science information technology or related field
  • At least two years of experience in working with computers and applications
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Specialist certification
  • Knowledge and experience in computer programming/scripting

Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry)

  • Valid MI Drivers License
