Group Finance Assistant

Overview of Role

We are currently looking for a focused fun and analytical individual to support with core financial processesincluding sales and purchase ledger reconciliations petty cash and more to join as our Group Finance Assistant and be part of our growing team.

Reporting to the Group Assistant Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller this role is a key part of the groups day-to-day finance operations. You will be responsible for maintaining core financial processes ensuring accurate and consistent service delivery and providing ongoing support to both the finance and operations teams.

The Role

• Maintain all the effective controls for the timely production of the monthly financial reports.
• Administration of tenancy schedule and rent reconciliation across the residential portfolio.
• Daily weekly and monthly administration of cashbook revenue reconciliation bank reconciliation various journals and control account reconciliations.
• Ensure that Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger is regularly reviewed and kept up to date with prompt invoice administration and debt collection.
• Ensure that company Purchasing system is being adhered to and that invoices are coded correctly and input promptly.
• Reconcile supplier statements and assist in preparation of payment runs
• Maintaining all necessary files and registers for the finance department
• Assist with internal and external audits requests when they occur
• Ensure adherence to company credit policy
• Assist with the asset register for the Group
• Working closely with the Group Assistant Financial Controller and the finance team in developing and strengthening internal controls applying process improvements and implementing systems to create digital automation.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting for business partners across the Group.
• Processing of petty cash and employee expenses claims.

The Candidate

• You are flexible approachable and sociable in nature.
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to input and interpret financial data.
• Strong communication skills both orally and in writing
• Ability to remain customer focused and have business awareness to assist non-financial managers in providing an efficient service in a multi cost centre environment.

• Implements and maintains acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required.
