Job Summary

Support Young Learners at the Start of Their Educational Journey

We are looking for a caring enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Luton starting as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children in Nursery and Reception helping them build confidence social skills and foundational learning in a nurturing environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with EYFS teachers to support play-based and structured learning ensuring children feel safe valued and motivated to explore and develop. The school values collaboration reflective practice and staff wellbeing offering a supportive environment for professional growth.


Your Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will provide targeted support for children assisting with daily activities learning tasks and routines. You will help children access the curriculum encourage positive behaviour and support their social emotional and academic development.

You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning observe and record childrens progress and contribute to a stimulating classroom environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support EYFS teachers in delivering play-based and structured learning

  • Assist children individually and in small groups to access the curriculum

  • Encourage positive behaviour independence and social skills

  • Observe and record childrens development and progress

  • Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning activities

  • Support routines transitions and personal care as required

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a calm and supportive environment

  • Communicate effectively with teachers staff and parents where appropriate


Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children in an EYFS or similar setting

  • Be patient nurturing and enthusiastic

  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Be reliable organised and proactive

  • Demonstrate understanding of early years development

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Relevant EYFS or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential. Early Career Teaching Assistants are welcome and supported.
