Job Description: Lead Automotive Tools Development

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to drive the design development and deployment of automotive software tools supporting tool development validation diagnostics automation and CI/CD workflows. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in Python DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automotive domain standards along with proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead a cross-functional team of developers and automation engineers in designing and delivering automotive tooling solutions.

  • Define architectural roadmaps development guidelines coding standards and best practices for tool development.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders including software validation systems and DevOps teams to understand toolchain needs and translate them into scalable solutions.

Tool Development & Automation

  • Design and develop high-quality automation tools using Python shell scripting and modern frameworks.

  • Build and maintain tools for ECU development flashing testing diagnostics CAN/LIN/FlexRay UDS calibration workflows etc.

  • Enhance toolchain efficiency through automation of build test integration and reporting processes.

CI/CD & DevOps

  • Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins GitLab CI AWS DevOps

  • Integrate automated testing static analysis quality gates and deployment processes into CI/CD environments.

  • Implement DevOps practices including configuration management containerization (Docker) virtualization infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible optional) and monitoring.

Automotive Domain Expertise

  • Familiar with automotive standards and protocols ASPICE ISO26262 AUTOSAR

  • Support tool development aligned with ISO 26262 ASPICE and OEM-specific processes.

  • Collaborate with ECU tool development teams to enable seamless tool integration into vehicle software workflows.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of 515 engineers conducting regular performance evaluations skill development and technical coaching.

  • Manage project planning task allocation sprint execution and delivery timelines.

  • Foster a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Electrical/Automotive Engineering or related field.

  • 8 years of experience in automotive software/tool development; 3 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and scripting languages.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines version control (Git) build tools and automation frameworks.

  • Good to have understanding of automotive protocols (CAN LIN FlexRay UDS) diagnostics ECU flashing and test automation.

  • Experience with DevOps tools: Docker Jenkins/GitLab Artifactory Kubernetes (optional).

  • Strong debugging problem-solving and system architecture skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in software development with at least 2-4 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong technical background in choose your stack: e.g. Python/Java/ Tools.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive end-to-end toolchain solutions.

  • Ability to lead distributed teams and coordinate with global counterparts.
