A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Focus on day-to-day people relations activities handling issues such as conflict resolution investigations and policy interpretation
- Lead the Social Work team in Ecuador and their assigned responsibilities ensuring alignment with local requirements and internal people processes
- Stay updated on labor law changes and updates in Colombia & Ecuador in close collaboration with external legal advisors and analyze potential scenarios together with the People Relations Manager to provide informed guidance to Function Heads for effective decision-making
- Drive implementation plan of new and/or updated H&M Group social policies guidelines or framework
- Deliver on local people relations plans and prios aligned with global strategy and priorities
- Act on local legally needed adaptations of policies and standards
- Provide strategic and operational advice to local management and HR Business Line
- Govern and follow up on compliance for Colombia & Ecuador
- Ensure local grievance process that is in line with the Global grievance policy and handle grievance investigations
- Ensure the respect for freedom of association for all colleagues connected to our business and in case unions or workers organizations exist support the strategy and actions defined together with the People Relations Manager or whoever the People Relations Manager delegates for this purpose
- Secure that Managers are fully aware of their responsibilities and have a proactive internal dialogue
- Drive risk assessments as a tool to identify hazards in the physical and psychosocial work environment
- Participate in risk assessments to analyze and understand events which might lead to crisis and uncertainty in the organization e.g. internal controls or geopolitics context
- Secure that crisis is handled in accordance with Our General People Principles - In times of crisis
- Expectation to contribute to People Relations Network
- May perform other activities related to the position
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
Qualifications :
Who You Are:
- At least two years Employee/People Relations experience (may consider equivalent HR education ER experience)
- In-depth knowledge of local employment laws and regulation
- Proven track record in developing revising and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Experience managing relationships with unions and workers representatives (where applicable)
- Demonstrated commitment to human rights advocacy within the workplace.
- Proven experience in designing implementing and managing comprehensive occupational health and safety programs
- Communicate fluently in Spanish and English to collaborate across markets
