Job Summary
We are seeking talented finance professionals to join a newly created team as part of a unique collaboration between EY and this role you will be employed by EY while working within the finance and accounting function of SCOR a leading global reinsurer renowned for its innovative range of reinsurance and insurance solutions. As SCOR establishes SCOR Bucharest you will play a crucial role in supporting their accounting operations specializing in IFRS and Solvency II standards.

Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA) preferred
- 3-6 years of experience in accounting within the insurance industry
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP) and MS Excel
- Strong analytical skills leadership abilities and a deep understanding of IFRS standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Your key responsibilities
Accounting Tasks:
- Oversee journal postings for both technical and non-technical topics ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Manage cash settlement processes leading closing activities in accounting systems (e.g. SAP OMEGA) including complex foreign exchange runs and open item resolution
- Review and approve journal entries and adjustments made by junior staff providing guidance and training as needed
Reconciliation:
- Lead reconciliations for intercompany operations and bank reconciliations ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies efficiently
- Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with data from source systems and technical accounting tools ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare and review comprehensive analysis memos (e.g. claims movements unusual technical events) providing insights to senior staff
- Conduct in-depth baseline results analysis focusing on new renewed and canceled business including technical results and IFRS17 KPIs
- Generate detailed reports and perform advanced analysis on FX movements tax balances and expense trends presenting findings to stakeholders
Audit & Compliance Support:
- Provide support to local finance teams for internal and external audit requests preparing audit documentation and addressing queries effectively
Systems:
- Technical accounting tool: OMEGA (SCOR proprietary system)
- Accounting tool: SAP GL
- Reporting / Analysis tool: Business Object
- Consolidation reporting: SAP BFC
