(IT Vendor Management-Senior Specialist)

About the opportunity:
This position is part of the Enterprise Data Networks (EDN) within the Network Services Division (NSD) which provides vendor and business management technical network design procurement financial quotes and implementation of the Wide Area Networks (WAN). EDN provisions and manages over 1100 fiber optic and copper circuits procured and contracted from various network telecommunication vendors.

As a Senior Technical Account Manageryou will be relied on to provide consultations to state government partners ensuring consistent and precise delivery of network connectivity. This entails conducting thorough assessments of vendor delivery options that align with the specific requirements of each government partner.

Duties

Some of what to expect with this role:

  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors to ensure they meet the organizational requirements and business standards for delivering network services.
  • Identify proper technical criteria and business requirements for vendor selection process(es).
  • Provide insight and recommendations in the negotiation of contracts with existing vendors and assess business proposals.
  • Monitor connectivity performance of ethernet circuits and optical connections to ensure alignment with service level agreement(s).
  • Represent physical and logical network topologies using graphical capabilities (automated toolsets or Circuit Design Reviews).
  • Provide technical specifications and business requirements for using IPsec and SSL VPN technology.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate restoration of connectivity services and equipment troubles by analyzing identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms.
  • Gather analyze and validate customer requirements technical constraints and desired outcomes to interconnect remote sites to WaTechs WAN.
  • Coordinate installation and configuration of physical and virtual telecommunication components to implement an approved system design.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and gather feedback from customers to ensure that solutions meet their needs.

Qualifications

Heres what were looking for:

  • Eleven years of recent information technology experience project delivery or technical leadership background plus strong organizational and interpersonal skills and analyzing customer technical requirements. This experience must include the following:
    • Four years of technical account management customer support vendor management or equivalent experience.
    • Four years of experience with at least four of the following protocols:
      • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).
      • IPSec VPN Tunneling Protocols.
      • Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF).
      • Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).
      • Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4).
      • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
      • Data Center (switching) Fabrics.
      • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
    • Three years of recent experience in large scale WAN networks OR two years of recent experience creating and managing IT project framework deliverables such as proposals work breakdown structures (WBS) and timelines and one-year equivalent formal training.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in network engineering information systems computer science information technology or an equivalent technical discipline from an accredited college or university may substitute for up to four years of the required experience.


Preference may be granted to applicants with the following:

Certification(s) including but not limited to (verification required):

  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching.
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA).
  • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).

Telework:The onsite requirement is asneeded to facilitate shipping or reception of WaTech equipment consult with customers and attend in-person meetings with the WAN and/or EDN team.
