About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to own all our preproduction) environments and infrastructure. This engineer is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves retail and e-commerce and has a passion for delivering best-in-class experiences for consumers alongside a passion for empowering engineering teams to deliver value to their customers rapidly and reliably.
Job Summary:
As Lead Engineer Preproduction Environments & Infrastructure youll be the conductor orchestrating the entire environment management lifecycle for our preproduction environments including development testing usability performance and chaos testing environments. Your mission is to ensure smooth timely and high-quality environment setups across the enterprise. Youll be at the helm coordinating environment configurations security improvements hardware upgrades and more. You will design and deliver an Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration-as-code strategy that minimizes configuration drift between production and nonproduction environments and maximizes the usability of these environments for your customers. Your role is pivotal in collaborating with developers testers and engineering management to enhance our software engineering processes and practices all while embodying the spirit of innovation and creativity that defines our denim lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
Environment Planning and Coordination: Youll be the go-to person for coordinating environment setup and efforts across multiple teams and systems ensuring that our preproduction environments are configured as close to production as possible healthy and reliable. Youll design and implement environments which are flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and priorities.
Infrastructure-as-Code Environment Management:Youll plan and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in parallel with your peers in production environment management to ensure consistency and repeatability. Youll research and implement industry-leading environment management tools and growing our capabilities to deliver better software faster youll make a direct impact on our business capacity to thrill our fans.
Continuous Improvement:Youll work with our teams to mature the system towards Continuous Deployment and Continuous Delivery develop scripts and automation tools and ensure seamless integration and deployment of environment setups. As you lead improvement in our environment management processes youll make direct impacts on our entire technology organizations capability to deliver value at scale.
Collaboration and Teamwork:Youll be a visible and valuable member of the teams delivering software to our customers. Actively participate in CAB meetings environment planning meetings maintain an environment repository and manage key information like build and environment procedures dependencies and notification lists. Mentor development squads to support squad-led environment setups to increase the flow of ideas to our customers.
Career and Team Development:Youll stay ahead of the curve by researching and implementing industry-leading environment and configuration management methodologies tools and technologies and apply them to our current needs.
About You:
Experienced Lead Engineer with 10 years of Testing experince and 5 years experience in project management and software environment management.
10 years experience with Kubernetes Docker or other containerization tools
Demonstrated experience and success using Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration as Code systems.
Strong curiosity and exploration in the use of GenAI and Agentic AI to partner with human engineers in getting work done in better ways
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
2 years experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
2 years experience using YAML JSON or similar languages
Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle in Agile DevOps and Lean Software environments.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
Demonstrated effective system leadership and analytical skills.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must.
