Objective of the Role
Drive the strategic expansion of MET Turkeys gas business by initiating and managing key commercial activities in the wholesale and regulatory space. The primary responsibility includes building and advancing institutional relationships with BOTAŞ EMRA and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENR) to identify and unlock market opportunities including LNG delivery programs and cross-border flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain regular structured engagement with BOTAŞ EMRA and MENR to anticipate market developments propose strategic partnerships and influence regulatory alignment.
- Monitor Turkish and regional gas markets to identify and initiate opportunistic commercial deals including cross-border trades storage transactions and LNG deliveries.
- Evaluate and develop commercial opportunities related to LNG deliveries into BOTAŞ infrastructure including structuring potential supply and swap deals under Turkeys regulated framework.
- Oversee the negotiation execution and compliance of gas purchase and sales contracts with wholesale clients and counterparties.
- Ensure MET Turkeys operations conform to national laws and EMRA regulations including capacity reservations balancing rules and license obligations.
- Develop and implement the Gas Pricing Policy considering regional benchmarks local transmission tariffs and risk premiums.
- Provide strategic input on storage transmission and demand-side developments. Adapt gas sourcing and sales strategies based on evolving local and regional trends.
- Work closely with the Origination Trading and Legal teams in Turkey and at Group level to execute approved deals and manage associated risks.
Qualifications :
- University degree in Economics Energy Business Administration or Engineering
- 10 years in gas trading origination or regulatory affairs in Turkey with proven stakeholder management skills
- In-depth understanding of Turkish gas market structure including BOTAŞ pricing models EMRA rules EPIAS systems and import/export processes
- Awareness of LNG delivery protocols regasification terminal operations and potential for TurkStream and TANAP-based trade routes
- Experience with energy trading platforms and knowledge of ETRM systems is a plus
- Fluency in Turkish and advanced proficiency in English
