DSHS BHHA Residential Services Coordinator

The State Operated Living Alternatives (SOLA) program within theBehavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is hiring a Residential Services Coordinator. If you are a passionate detail-oriented team player and self-starter with a positive attitude this may be the next step in your career.

In this role youll be instrumental in the hiring and scheduling of 24 hour/7 days a week direct care staff that work within the Spokane SOLA program located in Spokane WA. You will also assist with employee training and ensure compliance with WAC federal regulations and SOLA standard operating procedures.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday 8:00AM - 5:00PM with a stand-by rotation.

Some of what youll do:

  • Determine staffing needs and schedule coverage for each home.
  • Carry the after-hours duty phone to respond to emergencies or call-outs as needed.
  • Assist with the recruitment training and orientation of Attendant Counselor (AC) staff.
  • Schedule and monitor mandatory training completion for staff.
  • Review leave requests and inform staff about availability.
  • Complete time and attendance records for staff and respond to emergent staffing needs.
  • Facilitate ordering purchasing and payments for goods and services while addressing staff questions and concerns.

  • Skilled in organization and management of staff schedules.
  • Skilled in creating tracking filing and monitoring systems.
  • Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively work to mitigate them.

Who should apply
Professionals with a High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of thirty specific job-related college quarter hours (listed below) AND three years of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities.

Required job-related college quarter hours:
  • 5 credit hours in a 100 or higher-level English Composition class
  • 25 credit hours in 100 or higher level class in any of the following disciplines of which only 5 credits can be in Computer Science or Math: Psychology Education Human Services Computer Science Math
Or

High school graduation or GED and three years of experience as an Attendant Counselor 1 equivalent or higher level class.
