We are seeking a master thesis student to contribute to the development of an optimization-based energy system model. This research aims to investigate the potential for electrification and energy flexibility measures to support the decarbonization goals of an industrial production site.
- During your master thesis you will develop and validate a sector-coupled energy system model of an industrial site integrating operational data and technical parameters to accurately represent the industrial sites energy needs and flexibility potential.
- You will use relevant present and future energy market data to model its impact on the industrial site.
- Furthermore you will extend the existing mathematical modelling framework to include new features or constraints.
Qualifications :
- Education: Master studies in the field of Industrial Mechanical Electrical Engineering or comparable
- Experience and Knowledge: coding experience in Python for data science applications; knowledge of operations research and mathematical programing; previous research experience and knowledge of energy system modelling is an advantage
- Personality and Working Practice: you are collaborative independent and work structured with an analytical approach
- Work Routine: hybrid model with required presence at the location
- Enthusiasm: interest in energy economics and decarbonization policy
- Languages: very good in English

Duration: 6 months
